Waste Education

Turning the tap off on waste at the source.

We provide tailored waste education and auditing for schools, councils, businesses and events.

Since 1950, humans have generated over 6 billion tonnes of plastic waste, and on current trends that will double to 12 billion tonnes by 2050. Our waste education programs are built on behaviour change and circular economy models, designed to stop waste at the source.

We offer bin-fairy services at events, waste stream signage and waste consultation, and our trailblazing Camp Care program delivers on-site education and culture change at multi-day music festivals.

Have a specific waste bottleneck with waste? Ripple Projects is your friend.

Waste Audits

We believe in education as a tool for positive change, and the best way to reduce waste at the source.

Our experienced team provides waste consulting, education and auditing for schools, hospitality venues and councils. Whether you are looking for simple changes or a system overhaul - we work with you to determine waste trends and provide tailored interventions and hands-on education.

Data is important and we utilise it wisely, but data alone doesn’t shift systems. We get to know your organisation, people, habits and hidden problems, so we can turn the tap off at the source.

Bin Fairies and Signage

Changing your bins every half hour? Landfill levies getting out of hand? Engage our bin fairies and integrate our waste-stream signage for transformative results.

Bin Fairies, bin-fluencers, waste warriors… whatever you want to call them, we’ll help your event or venue slash volumes of waste to landfill, along with all the associated costs.

In Australia, waste contamination is one of our biggest barriers to keeping valuable resources in circulation. Our bin fairies guide your event attendees to sort their waste into the correct bin, assisted by our clear, colourful, practical waste signage. Beyond keeping precious resources out of landfill and streamlining your waste management, engaging with our bin fairies creates a ripple effect of change within the community, utilising conversation, education and playfulness.

Your event won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

We envision a future of music festivals without cultures of waste.

For over 11 years we’ve worked alongside some of Australia’s most renowned music festivals, leading strategic and innovative solutions to tackle cultures of waste. Through deep collaboration and iterative innovation, Camp Care was born.

Camp Care is a peer to peer behaviour change initiative targeting cultures of waste, rooted in how we connect to the land on which we party. We work alongside festivals to embed a program that makes sense within their culture, utilising existing resources on-site, maximising sustainability messaging and developing initiatives iteratively over years.

This program has seen major success in reducing landfill and associated costs, shortening the length of post-event clean up, improving waste management services and shifting behaviour and culture over years.

“Ripple Projects were legendary in helping us run a truly zero-waste festival. Their support before, during, and after made all the difference. They guided vendors, ensured we had the right resources, and proved that a waste-free event is possible. Their team was knowledgeable, fun, and dynamic—I can’t imagine running a festival without them!”
